This past Saturday, Hockey Players for Kids hosted its 3rd Annual Charity Golf Fundraiser. The annual event is a major fundraiser for HP4k and we want to thank all participants and sponsors who took part. With over 100 participants, sponsors, volunteers and celebrity guests, the day could not have went any better.
HP4K was fortunate to welcome back its core group of participants for a third year, and we would like to send a special thank you to this group. We also want to thank those new supporters who took part for the first time. “Taking part in a fun day of golf with friends supports our ability as a nonprofit to create a positive community impact during the hockey season”, says Ryan Pelley, Executive Director at HP4k, “Attending our fundraising initiatives and contributing a bit of support really plays a significant role in growing HP4K’s social impact, if we can continue to get that message across, I believe support for HP4K will only continue to grow. A big thanks to all involved this year, we look forward to welcoming everyone back again next year.”
HP4K welcomed current and retired NHL’ers to the event this year, NHL Alumni Rick Vaive and Dennis Maruk attended, as well as current players Joe Blandisi, Rod Pelley, and Ben Thomson of the New Jersey Devils organization. “Having these guys out in support of Hockey Players for Kids is great, they are allowing us to get the message across that giving back to youth and the communities they live and play is really beneficial for everyone. To bring together a group of quality individuals who contribute on and off the ice is something special.” says Ryan Pelley.
This year, HP4K welcomed a group of new sponsors, as well as sponsors who have been involved for the past three years. “We had sponsors donate prizes, register for corporate packages and sponsor holes,” says Pelley, “we are grateful for the support, this event does not happen without the sponsors.”
If you are interested in supporting Hockey Players for Kids at an event or throughout the season, we always welcome those who are willing to get involved in any measure. Please contact Ryan Pelley at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or questions.
About Hockey Players for Kids (HP4K)
HP4K is a nonprofit organization made up of hockey players around the world who are dedicated to positively impacting the communities they play in.
HP4K believes that promoting player interaction with children is the best way they can achieve this impact, and acts as a catalyst in connecting players with kids in their communities.
A career in pro hockey means constant relocation, and it can be difficult for athletes to feel engaged in the cities they live in. HP4K empowers players by providing an outlet for community service efforts.
Hockey Players for Kids was founded to:
Encourage pro hockey players to get involved in their cities
Show pro hockey players just how easy it can be to get involved in meaningful community service projects
Make a positive difference in the lives of kids
Provide a network for members to share ideas and resources
Influence other people to go out and do something in their community
