Community Involvement: Matt volunteered throughout his university years at multiple Boys and Girls Clubs, teaching kids about hockey. Around his hometown during the summer months he regularly helps out with programs teaching kids to skate and how to play hockey competitively. While playing pro, Matt has volunteered at many after-school programs in the Cincinnati area, reading to and spending time with children. In December 2010, he co-organized a toy drive for a New York-based Boys and Girls Club with his fellow Rochester Amerks teammates.
