While attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and majoring in Business, Oren coached two minor hockey teams and was awarded his team’s community service award during his senior year. He graduated from RPI with honors in 2007, earning a degree in business.
In 2009, Oren organized an event in Milwaukee that raised more than $9,000 for cancer research through a team head-shaving after a home game. He’s currently working on a reading program in the Stockton area that we hope will be a model for an HP4K national reading initiative.
“I love being a part of HP4K because it gives me the opportunity to be a positive influence on the community that surrounds me. I’m very fortunate to be in a position to affect positive change – as all of us are – and I think that as professional athletes, we all have a responsibility to be good role models.”
