Spencer is an original founding member of HP4K and has consistently demonstrated a commitment to community service throughout his pro (and now post-) hockey career. Currently the assistant coach of the ECHL’s South Carolina Stingrays, as a player, Spencer received the first-ever Jerry Zucker Community Service Award in March 2009. He’s spent countless hours on behalf of HP4K volunteering with children at afterschool programs, children’s hospitals, and the Ronald McDonald House.
“As a player, Spencer was a consummate pro and a great leader,” said the Stingrays’ head coach, Cail MacLean. “He consistently gave his team an honest effort, was courageous on the ice and led with an even temperament.”
