Over the weekend, the Second Annual Hockey Players for Kids Charity Golf Tournament took place at Glen Eagle Golf Club in Caledon, Ontario.
With 120 participants, the second year of the fundraiser saw a significant increase in registration and support. Of the 100+ participants, many were current and retired hockey players, while others included father and son teams, as well as HP4K Board Members and their families.
“It was a great day where everyone involved had a lot of fun, said Mac Faulkner, HP4K Chairman, it was nice to see so many people get behind HP4K, there were people from ages 14 to 74 taking part. A huge thank you to Glen Eagle Golf Club and to all of our sponsors, we are looking forward to next year!”.
HP4K fundraisers, such as the tournament that took place over the weekend, allows HP4K to operate, to grow and to play a role in enriching the lives of everyone involved. The more people that get involved and support HP4K, the greater the impact HP4K can have on the lives of children.
HP4K would like to thank all those who took part over the weekend, as well as the sponsors that made the tournament possible. A big thank you to Glen Eagle Golf Club, Kemper Hockey Schools, Joey’s Restaurants, National Training Rinks Barrie, Marsham International and Pommies Dry Cider.
About Hockey Players for Kids (HP4K)
HP4K is a nonprofit organization made up of hockey players around the world who are dedicated to positively impacting the communities they play in.
HP4K believes that promoting player interaction with children is the best way they can achieve this impact, and acts as a catalyst in connecting players with kids in their communities.
A career in pro hockey means constant relocation, and it can be difficult for athletes to feel engaged in the cities they live in. HP4K empowers players by providing an outlet for community service efforts.
Hockey Players for Kids was founded to:
Encourage pro hockey players to get involved in their cities
Show pro hockey players just how easy it can be to get involved in meaningful community service projects
Make a positive difference in the lives of kids
Provide a network for members to share ideas and resources
Influence other people to go out and do something in their community
