A favorite organization of HP4K’s own T.J. McElroy, DinoMights is holding its 16th annual “Getting There Together” fundraiser on Monday, November 15th, at 7 p.m. at International Market Square in Minneapolis, MN.

The 2010 DinoMights fundraiser celebrates 16 years of equipping urban and disadvantaged youth with physical, academic, social and spiritual excellence, through involvement in the sport of ice hockey.

Scott Reynolds recently joined Autism Speaks to show HP4K’s support for an outstanding organization working tirelessly to change the future for all who struggle with autism.

Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disorder, and every 20 minutes another family receives the news that their child has autism.

Spending time in the “Grand Club” tent (for walkers who raised $1,000 or more), Scott hung out with families, signed autographs and helped raise awareness about the importance of autism research. 4,000 people participated in the event and more than $240,000 was raised. HP4K member Oren Eizenman and his fellow teammates are gearing up for the finale celebration of the reading program Oren organized at Bristow Middle School in Stockton, California.

Students in sixth, seventh and eighth grade were challenged to read, read, read as much as possible between February 24 and March 30.

The top six readers from each grade level who have read the most books and earned the highest number of points from AR reader tests will be awarded with the chance to play a floor hockey game against the Stockton Thunder in the Bristow Middle School gym.

The event will be open to the public and all money raised from ticket sales will be donated back to Bristow’s reading program.

Teachers, staff and students alike have been doing their part to read like crazy at Bristow, and we can’t wait to hear how the big game turns out!

This year, HP4K will benefit from proceeds raised at the Cincinnati Cyclones Fan Club charity event, Cyclones Got Talent II. On Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 5 – 9 p.m. at Raffel’s Banquet Hall (Blue Ash, OH), Cyclones players will be serving dinner, dining with guests and putting on a hilarious talent show. Attendees can also participate in a raffle and live auction with great prizes—all benefitting HP4K.

Tickets are $15 per person for non-Fan Club members and pre-registration is required. Payment can be made in cash or check payable to Cyclones Fan Club at the fan club booth behind Section 117 at US Bank Arena or call Lisa Buchman at (513) 885-0307.

HP4K partnered with the Cincinnati Amateur Hockey Association at a “Pond Hockey” tournament on December 29, 2009, raising funds and awareness for the Children’s Hunger Alliance.

Cincinnati Cyclones players served as refs and coaches during the big scrimmage for kids aged 7-10, and raised $1,000 for Children’s Hunger Alliance, an organization working to break the cycle of childhood hunger in Ohio.
